I Want It That Way

Updated: Feb 13, 2019

The fruit way to get to anyone's heart this Valentines Day! A chocolate covered strawberry sets every heart on fire.

These desserts have fruit in them so you can be guilt free and give someone a heart full with these romantic treats

Cook time: 30 min

  • 1 box of strawberries

  • 1 bag of dark chocolate

  • 1 tbsp coconut oil

1. Get one medium sized pot, filled halfway with water, and set on the stove on medium-high heat we are about to get real fancy!

2. get a glass bowl that will sit on top of the pot so that it doesn’t touch the water and BOOM! You just made yourself a double broiler*

3. Fill that top glass bowl with dark chocolate and coconut oil and stir occasionally for 10-15 min until all the chocolate completely

4. when the chocolate is melted take a strawberry and insert a toothpick or wooden kabob skewer in the leafy top side of the strawberry halfway in

5. dip strawberries halfway into the chocolate. Tip: to get the chocolate surrounding your strawberry evenly around try lifting and turning the strawberry as you pull it out from dipping it in the chocolate. After removing the strawberry from the melted chocolate place on a parchment paper lined tray

6. set strawberries in the fridge the night before or allow at least 20-30 min to allow chocolate to set

Chef Roro’s Tip- if you really want to razzle and dazzle that special someone try adding a garnish, like melted white chocolate, crushed nuts, or shredded coconut to the chocolate covered strawberries right after you place them on the tray to set

*Double Broiler is a chefs tool used to melt chocolate so it is smooth and can be used to coat foods, like strawberries
