Things Are About to get Toasty

This quick and easy to make Italian toast is a great way to start a dinner or living up the party!
Prep time-10 min
Cook time- 20 min
Yield-12 slices, serves 4-6
Ingredients:
1lb cherry tomatoes, quartered (
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 tbsp olive oil (extra 1/4 cup to coat bread)
2 tsp fresh basil (about 6 basil leaves thinly sliced)
1 tsp balsamic vinegar
1 tsp salt
1/2 tsp black pepper
1 baguette French bread
Directions:
1. Set your oven to 450F
2. Prepare tomatoes, garlic, olive oil, basil,
balsamic vinegar, salt & pepper and add to bowl. Cover bowl and set in the fridge while you prepare the bread. (You can make the tomato & basil mixture the night before to make it easier the day of)
3. Diagonally slice the French bread (or any similar Italian bread) to 1/4-1/2 inch size and brush one side of each piece of bread with the extra 1/4 cup of olive oil you set aside.
4. Set the bread on a baking tray (olive oil side DOWN! This is so when the bread is done and you top with the tomato & basil the bread doesn’t get soggy). Place bread in preheated oven, on the highest rack, for 5 minutes.
5. Remove bread, let cool slightly, top with tomato & basil mixture, and enjoy!
